No Fashion Sense and other crazy bits

I'm sure our house is no different with the random collections of kids toys. I will admit, I'm a total sucker for the $1.00 section at Target or the discount aisle at Micheal's. Tom claims those things were created just for me. :-) This shark visor was one of those purchases. Every once in a while when I reorganize the toy chest it resurfaces to the top and gets a lot of love. Jack wore it for a solid week. The same goes with these Spider boots my mom got him a year ago. When he first got the boots he pitched a big ol' hissy fit because he wanted NOTHING to do with those boots. Now, they're his favorite way to complete any outfit. Hahahaha!

Ty is becoming our little crazy monster. This child has sooooo much energy I can barely keep up. He's learned how to climb EVERYTHING. Nothing is safe in this house, the book shelves, the dogs, his highchair, Jack's bed, the couches. It's hard to catch these moments on camera because I'm usually trying to catch him. He is one very determined child. (that's going to haunt us later) At least he's finally learned how to swing his legs and get off of everything feet first. He's also Jack's shadow. Ty definitely admires his big brother. Jack's coming around to the idea that Ty is trying to learn from him and not just annoy him. Like I said....where ever Jack is, Ty is also.

(I had nothing to do with staging this picture. I was wiping down the table after lunch and then saw this....Frick and Frack)

Ty's favorite face for the camera.

And last but not least.....
We got the girls 2 new dog toys. They are these stuffing less fox and raccoon. The dogs LOVE them. The thing is, they look like road kill. If they're laying in the hallway you have to do a double take before walking near it. It's creepy...as you can see.....

Beach Bums

Two weeks ago (way behind on my blogging) we had a little beach outing. The weather's been all over the place here but we took advantage of a sunny day. We headed down to Carmel, it's our favorite place to go. We packed a lunch and just spent the day. There was a really shallow pond that formed when the tide went out which was perfect to get our feet wet. The water is always freezing so swimming is only for the crazy, unless you have a wet suit. Once you stand in the shallow water for a while your feet eventually go numb then it's not so bad. hahahaha. The boys had a great time, the weather was beautiful and there's no better way I'd rather spend a day. We cannot wait to get to KY, but we will definitely miss our lazy days at the beach here!

I wish I had Jack's skin tone.

Up and Movin'

Ty has been trying to walk for about 3 1/2 months now. He would take a step here or there then....splat....on his keester. He's a pro at cruising and climbing. He has mastered using toys to step on to get up on the couches or even Jack's bed. The kiddo is a monster and has NO fear of falling. (just like his brother, and probably every little boy) This past week he's been taking a few more steps and looking a little more sturdy on his chubby feet. This morning he stood up on his own, took 3 steps, stopped and looked around, then took 7 more steps. And that was it. Now he's up and moving every where. He still crawls 50% of the time, but he knows he can walk now. We're so proud of him! I love these HUGE baby milestones and firsts!

Here's a quick video of our most graceful child. hahahah! Excuse the diaper attire but he destroyed his outfit during lunch!

When there is sun....

.....There is water fun!

It doesn't always feel like summer here in CA. We've only had little bits of sun and warmth lately after a rainy spring. Saturday was absolutely beautiful, but we've been sporting sweatshirts for the last 3 days, until the sun pops out at 4pm. However last week we had a few days of sun in a row. It was actually in the 80s,(one day) which meant it was warm enough for the kiddie pool. We also set up the water play table that Andrew got Ty for his birthday. The boys had a blast!! Who doesn't love swimming? Ty was in and out of the pool and Jack turned into a fish. I love the days where we can spend most of our time outside.

(No making fun of our mini pool....when we get a bigger yard, we'll get a bigger pool! Hahahaha!)

Such a ham!!!

And the Oscar goes to......

We've been working on teaching Ty some signs. Our beginning signs are "all done", "drink", "eat", and "more". The other night Tom was working on the "more" sign with Ty while we were eating dinner. Now, Ty's done this sign quite a few times. This night, however, he wasn't feeling too cooperative. Instead we got to see Ty put on one of his more entertaining shows.....The Faker! It was like he was having a mini hissy fit because he didn't want to do the sign but he definitely wanted another bite of applesauce. This kid cracks us up!!! Don't worry....he eventually got his applesauce. We didn't make him work too hard for it! :-)

Who says you can't play with your food??? Another night at dinner Ty was sharing his waffle frie with Tom. Then he started closing Tom's hand. I have no idea where he got this from. It was so funny to watch though. At one point it looked like he was playing peek-a-boo with his frie. hahahah! (Can you tell I usually have the camera on the dining room table....many dinner time videos)

And if you were almost 3 years old and were having a mini ice cream cone for a snack.....where would you eat it? Well.....a clothes hamper of course! Isn't that the first place you'd go?

More Birthday Fun

Yesterday was such a great day! I didn't get to elaborate on it too much because I just wanted to make sure I put up pictures of Ty's birthday before I crashed for the night. :-)

The day started with our big birthday morning greeting.

After our morning got started and we got home from Jack's gymnastics class (which Ty LOVES going to...there's a play room full of toys) We had Andrew, Madison and Brady over for a little play date with pizza and cupcakes. You saw yesterday what Ty did to the cupcake. Hahaha! His favorite party item was a red balloon. He would belly flop on it, roll over it, pinch it, loads of fun! Everyone helped open presents and a lesson was taught to Jack that it was NOT his birthday. Poor kid. It was a great little party! And the boys had great naps that afternoon.

Thank you Anne and Lori for Ty's presents! He loves playing with them!

After the boys woke up from their naps we headed outside and played with the water table Ty got from Andrew. That was a lot of fun! I think summer has started here, it's been sunny and warm the past few days. (I had a lot more pictures but the neighbor's kiddos joined us and they seem to be in every picture I took. I didn't want to post pics of them w/o their mom knowing.) So it was a great day! The only thing missing was family! I can't wait to get to KY so we're a little closer to everyone! All of the grandparents, uncles, great-aunts and great uncles and cousins were missed! I can't wait for the day that my kids get to have the "family party" that I always had growing up! Someday......

Happy Birthday Titus!!!

A year ago today, our family grew by one. I can't believe our little baby is a year old today! Happy Birthday Titus! You make us laugh and smile every day and we couldn't love you more!

I can't believe he was ever this tiny.

Time for cake!!!
This is my first attempt at fondant. (It's definitely NOT perfect but not "Cake Wrecks" worthy...I hope)

We had a little party/ playdate with some friends for Ty this morning. We had cupcakes and pizza. This is round one of the sugar attack.

When Tom got home we had our own little family party, hats included!! :-)

I don't think I'll ever look at a turtle the same.

SUGARRRR!!!
