Pumpkin Pickin'

We took a little road trip today to Hodgenville, KY today. (Tidbit: Abe Lincoln was born there) We went to a pumpkin patch and orchard. It wasn't the most thrilling pumpkin patch but it was fun! There was a hayride, a tractor to climb on, a corn silo turned into a play hut with corn, a playground, an old school water pump for rubber duckie races, swinging ropes on a mound of dirt (who knows) and lots of apples and pumpkins. It wasn't crazy crowded so the boys had a blast being able to run free. Ty had a hard time walking through the vines in the pumpkin patch but loved climbing on everything else. My highlight.....it was 86 degrees and we cooled down with pumpkin ice cream. YUM!!! We also found our new favorite apple. A mutsu apple, it's kind of like a granny smith without the bite, so good!

The tractor

The corn silo with corn to play with.

On the hayride

Found a good one

Back at the market hut, Ty trying to pull the wagon....he's very determined!

Pumpkin with a pumpkin

The water pumps...aka...the mud pit

The random mound of dirt with ropes....of course, a big hit.

Ty was a HUGE fan of the pumpkin ice cream!

Num Num Yummay!

Jack opted for vanilla, and only suffered brain freeze twice...not too bad. :-)

And just as a tiny preview of the house. We hung a few pictures, paintings and these above our sunroom this weekend......I tried to fight it.....I lost. :-) hahahaahha!

Looks like a cool pumpkin patch. What better to play on than a HUGE mound of random dirt. Especially for boys. One last comment....WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY ABOVE THE DOOR? Are you guys back in Hazzard County...Did Tom turn into Boss Hogg???? Shouldn't they be on the front of the Hyundai????
